Hello Friends of the Regina Musical Club! Welcome to our 2010-2011 Season. As always, we again offer you, our audience and fellow club members, a season of superb concerts. This new season promises to be no exception! You'll see what I mean when you take a look at the enclosed brochure! Over the years of my involvement with the Regina Musical Club, I have come to recognize some misconceptions arising from conflicts between our concert dates and the Regina Symphony Masterworks series. These scheduling glitches are no fault of ours, or of the RSO organization. We have been cooperating with each other for years. These conflicts occur because the Regina Musical Club has to book artists by late November if we are to get the performers we need for the next season. The Regina Symphony supplies its Masterworks dates for the next season to us in November. Unfortunately, there are times when the announced RSO schedule is changed, which leaves you with a difficult choice to make! In an effort to alleviate this situation, we are moving our 2011-2012 series dates to Sunday afternoons. Hopefully this will improve your concert-going options, allowing you to enjoy everything the Regina music scene has to offer. It will also give us more dates to choose from when we book the Riddell Theatre. Our Annual General Meeting will be August 28th, 2010, 11:00 AM in Room 228.2 of the Riddell Centre, second floor, University of Regina. We would like to invite you all. If you are interested in classical music and have some free time to devote to our executive, please come to the meeting. We are interested in your ideas and your assistance would be invaluable! More hands on deck would make the work of the club much more manageable! The City of Regina has awarded the RMC a grant to sustain our concert series. We are profoundly grateful to the city for that grant. It makes a significant difference to our bottom line!
Here's a little reminder that once again, preordered tickets can be picked up on the evening of the first concert, Saturday, September 11th. Please use the subscription renewal/order form on the brochure to order before August 31. A word to the wise - come a little early that evening to avoid the crush at the ticket desk.
